No. Alpha Loyalty uses Shopify customer accounts as the loyalty membership. A customer joins the program when they create an account or sign in to your store, for example from the sign-up and sign-in buttons in the loyalty widget. Customers who already have an account in your store are members automatically, if they match the program's eligibility settings.
You can give members a one-time "Welcome bonus" when they join, for example 100 points.
