With "Order discount", customers can redeem their loyalty points for discounts directly in the Loyalty Widget.
How it works
Customers redeem the reward in the Loyalty Widget by spending points.
There are two redemption types you can choose from:
Fixed discount: A set number of points = a fixed discount (e.g., 1000 points = $10 off/10% of)
Flexible discount: Customers can spend any number of points for a proportional discount (e.g., 5 points = $1 off), up to a maximum limit
When the reward is activated, the app generates a unique discount code that applies automatically in the cart and at checkout if the order meets the reward conditions.
Step 1: Open program settings
Go to your Alpha Loyalty dashboard.
Open the program where you want to add the reward.
Click Add way to redeem -> Order discount.
Step 2: Choose redemption type
Choose between two possible modes of the redemption:
Fixed – customers redeem a set number of points for a fixed amount or percentage off.
Flexible – customers redeem any number of points for a proportional discount.
Step 3: Configure reward details
The settings differ slightly depending on the redemption type you've specified.
Fixed discount
1) Redemption rule: Choose if you want the discount to be a fixed amount (e.g., $10) or percentage (e.g., 15%), and how many points are required for redemption.
2) Minimum purchase amount: Order value required to use this reward (if any).
3) Discount combinations: Choose whether this discount can combine with shipping, product, or order discounts.
4) Widget texts: Add the title and description shown in the Loyalty Widget.
Flexible discounts
1) Redemption rule: Points-to-discount ratio (e.g., 5 points = $1).
2) Minimum purchase amount: Order value required to use this reward (if any).
3) Min/max point limits: Set minimum/maximum points that can be redeemed at once.
4) Discount combinations: Choose whether this discount can combine with shipping, product, or order discounts.
4) Widget texts: Add the title and description shown in the Loyalty Widget.
Step 4: Save and activate
Save your settings and activate the reward.
If the program this reward belongs to is also active, eligible customers will now see it in the Loyalty Widget and can redeem it according to your rules.
Things to keep in mind
Rewards apply to the order only if all conditions are met (e.g., minimum order value).
Discount codes are applied automatically at checkout. Even if a customer copies the code, it cannot be reused on another order — special parameters are required for the discount to work. This ensures security and prevents fraud.
If customers activate the reward but don’t complete the order, they can cancel the reward and get their points back.
