Most loyalty program activity is tied to customer accounts.
Only customers who have a customer account can:
Redeem their points for rewards
Access their VIP tier benefits
This means your customers must be able to sign in to their accounts to participate in your loyalty program.
Option 1: Enable Shopify’s default sign-in links
If sign-in links are disabled in your store, you’ll see a notification banner in the app.
To enable them:
Follow the link in the banner, or go to Settings → Customer accounts → Sign-in links in your Shopify admin.
Switch the toggle button on.
Note: Shopify stores use one of two types of customer accounts — new or legacy. If your store was created recently, you're using new customer accounts, while older stores may still be running on legacy accounts. Either way, Alpha Loyalty works seamlessly with both.
Option 2: Use a custom sign-in system
If you already use a custom login setup, you can continue relying on it and simply ignore the notification message in the app.
