When you use an app on Shopify, all the charges for that app are included in your Shopify invoice. This sometimes results in a big gap between when you start using the app and when you actually get charged. This can make refunds a bit tricky.
To cover refunds, Shopify app vendors have two options:
1. If you've already paid:
If you’ve paid for the app, we can simply refund your money. You will see both the charge and the refund in your payments.
2. If you haven't been charged yet:
If you confirmed your subscription but haven’t received an invoice yet, we can’t give you a cash refund. Instead, we give you App Credits.
These credits are like a gift card. They will cover the cost of the Alpha Sale app in your next invoice. So, when the next invoice comes, the credits will automatically reduce how much you owe.
In summary
If you’ve paid for the app, you get your money back.
If you haven’t been charged yet, you get credits to use on your next bill.
This way, you’re always protected. You either get your money back or you use the credits for your next subscription.
