When the same product or customer is included in different discount campaigns, you may want to control how the discounts are applied.
Scenario 1: Exclude products already on sale
If certain products are already discounted site-wide (i.e., using "compare-at price" specified by our app or manually), you can exclude them from other discount campaigns.
Use the exclusion option during the “In-cart product discount” setup to ensure coupons or automatic discounts don’t apply to these products.
Scenario 2: For products with both a sale and an in-cart discount, apply the largest.
If you want the largest discount to apply when your sale products are eligible for other types of discounts (e.g., a $50 price reduction and a 10% discount code), this is also easy to arrange.
Set all your “In-cart product discounts” and “In-cart order discounts ” to be calculated based on "compare-at price". This default option will ensure your sales don’t stack with checkout discounts.
Scenario 3: Combining several in-cart product discounts
If you have several in-cart product discounts (which you created in the Shopify admin panel, Alpha Sale, or any other app), you can choose whether or not they should combine.
Mark the “This product discount can be combined with” -> “Product discounts” checkbox. When selected, only the largest discount applies.

Scenario 4: Combining in-cart product and order discounts
You can control whether in-cart product and order discounts stack.
Choose “This product discount can be combined with” -> “Order discounts” to apply both discounts in sequence (first the product discount, then the order discount).
Note that for this setting to work, your order discount should also allow combinations with product discounts.
Scenario 5: Combining discounts with shipping offers
You can also decide if discounts should be combined with shipping offers.
In the same settings box, select “This product/order discount can be combined with” -> “Shipping discounts” to apply both the product/order discount and the shipping discount.
